Aylus Networks, a provider of infrastructure software for allowing video communications services over mobile networks, has announced raising $16 million in funding.
The financing was led by U.K.-based m8 Capital led the financing. Existing investors Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners also contributed to the financing round.
Kensington Capital has joined several other investors in backing India's Village Laundry Service in a first round of venture capital funding.
Joining Kensington in backing the company are Index Advisory and a private India-based investor. Village Laundry Service received seed-stage backing from Innosight Ventures.
Asa Kalavade's Tatara Systems, a provider of mobile telephony products, has been acquired by Taqua, a supplier of switching and small cell deployment products. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Tatara Systems is headquartered in Acton, Mass., while Taqua is headquartered in Richardson, Texas. Taqua has additional research development facilities in Hyannis and Toronto and will keep Tatara System's Acton facility running.
In a move designed to add business in the capital markets and investment banking industries, Virtusa Corp. has acquired ALaS Consulting LLC for $27.8 million.
Westborough-based Virtusa is an IT services company that offers business consulting and outsourcing services. ALaS, which is headquartered in New York, provides consulting and advisory services to financial services companies.

The Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin' Donuts, which is part of Dunkin' Brands Inc., is entering the Indian market through an agreement with Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd. Jubilant FoodWorks will develop, sub-franchise and operate the 500 stores in India. The company said it expects the first Dunkin' Donuts store to open in India in 2012.
