PHILADELPIA - Prime Hospitality Corp. has assumed management of the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Stadium.
The hotel is owned by Trent Motel Associates, an investment group led by Barry Sussman and Raj Parikh.
Following the purchase of the hotel on Feb. 6, the group unveiled plans for a $6.5 million renovation of the property to be completed by the end of the year.
The 11-story hotel is next door to Veterans Stadium, home of Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies. It is less than 4 mile from the Philadelphia International Airport. It is also adjacent to the First Union Center, home of the National Basketball Association's Philadelphia 76ers and the National Hockey Leagues' Philadelphia Flyers.
The hotel has 238 guestrooms with 22 executive suites, 12 meeting rooms occupying 14,000 square feet, a restaurant and sports bar, fitness center and outdoor pool with pavilion are.
The Philly Legends Sports Bar & Grille is located within the hotel. Legends serves appetizers, cooked to order burgers and sandwiches. The bar has 32 colored televisions, one big-screen television, and DJ entertainment on weekends.
